Le Velay ne manque pas de charme, et ce n’est pas Régine Jeannot qui peut dire le contraire ! Elle a d’ailleurs décidé d’ouvrir en octobre dernier une agence de mannequins, 25 Faubourg Saint-Jean au Puy-en-Velay « Eclipse models agency ». Comment avez-vous découvert le monde du mannequinat ?

Régine Jeannot : J’ai découvert le monde du mannequinat en 1990, j’ai été élue Miss Outremer en 1992. Ça a été une très bonne expérience, puisque je suis allée à tout hasard dans une agence, juste pour me renseigner, et j’ai signé un contrat dans l’après-midi qui a suivi. J’ai été élue Miss avec le numéro 12 qui est ma date de naissance. Ça a changé énormément de choses depuis. J’ai pris confiance en moi, j’ai pas mal voyagé en France, et puis j’ai fait de belles rencontres, comme celle avec le chanteur Roch Voisine dans un restaurant parisien.

C’est l’attractivité du Puy-en-Velay qui vous a incité à ouvrir une agence ?

Régine Jeannot : Je venais passer mes vacances ici, et je trouvais que c’était une très belle région. J’ai pensé qu’il y avait beaucoup de potentiel, et j’ai voulu apporter quelque chose aux jeunes du Puy-en-Velay, leur faire découvrir en fait le monde du mannequinat, et leur ouvrir des portes. Le but est également de travailler avec les boutiques de la ville. Ça me tient beaucoup à cœur !

Quel doit être le profil des candidates qui viennent vous voir, et notamment celles qui participeront à l’élection de Miss Haute-Loire, le 25 mai, à Brioude.

Régine Jeannot : Les filles doivent mesurer au minimum 1m70, et les garçons 1m80. Ils ne doivent pas avoir de tatouages, ni de piercing. Les mannequins ne doivent pas être mariés, et pas avoir d’enfants. Ils doivent avoir du caractère, même si certaines personnes n’ont pas trop d’assurance. Ils doivent avoir une force mentale, car le mannequinat n’est pas un monde facile. Il y a le bon et le mauvais côté des choses.

Comment les accompagnez-vous ?

Régine Jeannot : On a accompagné 17 personnes depuis l’ouverture de l’agence, des jeunes de 16 à 25 ans. Mon rôle c’est de les soutenir quand elles vont se présenter dans les différents comités de Miss. Je leur propose auparavant une formation sur trois mois, voire un an, pour leur apprendre à marcher, à se tenir, à se maquiller, à se coiffer, et puis à se présenter. Je les accompagne du début jusqu’à la fin. Il y a des filles qui n’ont jamais défilé, qui n’ont jamais posé pour des photographes. J’ai remarqué qu’au Puy-en-Velay les jeunes filles ne portaient pas beaucoup de talons ! J’ai découvert que le Velay a du charme, même si les filles se cachent un peu ici, et les garçons aussi !

Quels sont les projets de l’agence ?

Régine Jeannot : Je veux apporter énormément aux jeunes, car je suis très proche d’eux. J’aimerais développer des partenariats avec les commerces de la ville. Parallèlement à cela, j’ai monté un projet qui me tenait vraiment à cœur, celui d’organiser une élection de Miss dans des maisons de retraite. Il y aura un défilé le 18 mai à Bel Horizon, et le 1^er juin au Verger de Léa.
